There’s a wonderful anticipation and joy with first time parents. And the reason is pretty obvious!

This little guy was seven days old when I came to visit. I like to photograph newborns when they’re fresh and still extremely flexible and sleepy.
I’m so thankful to have my first Portland portrait clients. It feels good to be back at work.

A few more favorites of Maria and Brendon, laughing together. Such a great couple!

Her mom and dad bought the file for this image, and I hope they print it HUGE and put it up in the office. This is the kind of smile that would brighten up the most gloomy of days!

Boston trumpeter Fred Sienkiewicz hired me to do some artisan film portraits.
This is one he chose for publication.

These two just bought an old Victorian house on the coast of Rhode Island and have been fixing it up together. They love books, and laugh together constantly. Theirs is a true and wonderful relationship and I am so proud to have been commissioned to photograph Maria and Brendon when I was on the east coast last month.

I know Daniel from MIT. He is a genius. He brought a physicist’s brain to our small Boston photography group, and the awkward-yet-awesome directness of an engineer. I am really glad I got to know Daniel Nagaj when he lived in Cambridge, MA.

I tried to do this photo in the style of brilliant Portland photographer Lisa Warninger’s work on Urban Weeds. (isn’t that a great name for a street style photo blog?)
