A few more favorites from my portrait swap with Ashley O’Dell.

And here’s the feedback I just got from her:
omg rachel! these are the best photos ever taken of me! no joke! they are amazing.
I’ve been into portrait swaps lately, because photographers often don’t have enough quality photos of themselves and their families. Megan of Perspectives Photography asked me to help document her pregnancy, and so we agreed to do a sort of hip urban maternity session. We met up at Hi-Lo Foods in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts and utilized their colorful murals and aisles for some shots. Then we walked around the surrounding few blocks for some more street shots.

I love doing maternity portraits. I think pregnant women are so beautiful!

Grace, a fellow photographer, recently moved to the Boston area and introduced herself to me awhile ago. She’s my new sidekick on portrait sessions and I have enjoyed getting to know her! We did a quick mini-shoot after some family sessions at Wingaersheek Beach (Gloucester, Massachusetts). There were a couple of spots I really wanted to shoot at the beach but didn’t get a chance because we were photographing small kids with a short attention span. Look at those muted colors! I’d love to do a portrait session with a toddler playing in the tall grasses.
