You know, I always mean to take whimsical photos in picturesque fields of weeds, but my dream was not yet realized until I met Ed and Crystal. They were kind enough to let me grab them on the way out from Robin and Erik’s MA farmhouse wedding.
I love how Ed manages to be both badass and slightly goofy/in-love at the same time… and that sassy Crystal seems to be his perfect match! I also love that they didn’t flinch when I said “will you fulfill a dream of mine and go stand in those weeds for a second?” hehehe.
Can I be honest here and say that’s it’s been a tough couple of days in the land of mergeweddings.com. Nothing catastrophic has happened; I’ve just felt like keeping up with daily tasks has kept me running constantly without rest.
Jennifer sent me a link to this guy’s project. I’ve seen excerpts before, and each little dance has its own degree of amazingness, but the final montage is incredible. I just sat here watching it for the first time and it made me cry!
Whenever something makes me cry, I like to try to figure out why. I ask myself… am I upset? Happy? In awe? Usually, exhaustion and frustration can actually be a helpful thing as it lessens my own ability to protect myself from real feelings. We all protect ourselves! This time, Matt connected with things deep inside me… a desire to bring such joy into other people’s lives in all different environments. It might sound kind of cheesy, but this montage is like the life I want to lead, personally and professionally having the opportunity to learn about and photograph people all around the world.
If nothing else, watch the video for the Papua New Guinea guys, and also the wheelchair guy in the crowd.
Wow, it was so fun to be out in Wisconsin for the week visiting Amy and her family. Here are three photos Amy posted of me from our little nerdy “let’s take pictures together” session at the end of the visit. Her son Drew is one of my new favorite people. He calls me “shay-shel.”
I’m currently in the process of scheduling my first client newborn session and I love the reasoning that Connecticut couple M+N used when naming their daughter…
My little one’s name is Natalie – we picked a combination of Nathaniel and Marilee because my family’s names are really common (Emily and Mary) and we agreed that his family names are horrible (Bertha and Latietia).
Rachel,
We got our engagement pictures in the mail and I can’t BELIEVE how great they are! I really feel like you captured our relationship on film! The ones of Abby are amazing. You put the three of us together, without pressure, and made us look like the family we have become. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to see what you do at the wedding!
XOXO Christina
