Jay Eads Lighting Class

PHOTOGRAPHERS! Have you ever been in a situation where you had a perfect setup for a great photo – but lighting conditions prevented you from getting anything usable? It’s the worst. Personally, I’ve been in everything from a large wedding reception to an in-home newborn portrait session where I tried my best with my speedlights and window light, but came away frustrated and embarrassed about the end result.

Jay Eads knows lighting. He is teaching an off-camera lighting class for us in Portland, Oregon in Autumn 2011. Jay has plenty of street cred, but his work speaks for itself.

Building upon the success of the May 2011 lighting class, we’re planning another learning party — a day where Jay rocks it out in Portland from his native Eugene, Oregon — and teaches us about off-camera lighting basics. Jay will start at the beginning and break it down for participants to learn about basic lighting techniques, and students will have the opportunity to try the techniques out as we go.

So, join us! We’re not saying your life will suddenly become amazing and you’ll start booking tons of work and your images will be instantly sparkly. We just think you could probably learn a thing or two from Jay! We know we can.
